Lake City, Colorado

Lake City is a small historical mining town located on the very popular Silver Thread Byway, which begins at South Fork, runs through Creede, Lake City, and ends in Gunnison.

It rests in a high mountain valley, surrounded by mountains, some over 14,000 feet.  It boasts a population of around 350 in the winter but swells to about 2500 in the summer, which allows for good restaurants, and many opportunities for various activities and entertainment.
